I haven't read much yet on this site, but I love Scotch whisky.

Are you all well?

Hi Eric,

I am from Scotland and I'm a true believer in drinking blended whisky. Single malts are okay but don't have any real depth for me.

It has to be Johnnie Walker Black Label........and always!

There are some blends that are far better than a malt but i must say thet i prefer single malts more than i do blends. It doesn`t mean i turn my head away for a good blend .The caracteristics of a single malt can be catched in a blend but i rather drink the whiskies one by one on theirselves finding out the diffrences.I agree with you the Walker range are good (green label being my favorite one) but also are J&B and Usher`s.Blends i won`t touch are Chivas,Ballantines and Vat 69 but i would die for a GrouseSmile.
Eric.

Hi Folks, I new here too.

I'm 29, Scottish and have worked in the whisky industry for a few years, notably for Allied Distillers where I worked on brands such as Ballantine's, Teacher's, The Tormore, The Glendronach, Black Bottle, Stewart's Cream Of The Barley, Miltonduff and Laphroaig - None of which are my favourites, although I wouldn't say no to any of them.

I'm currently rebuilding the Dubh household's whisky gantry for display and imbibment purposes, and hope to extend the current collection of 34 malts (all opened I might add!).

I don't have set in stone favourites but tend to enjoy them as the mood takes me so I'll tell you which bottles I'm currently frequenting:

Ardbeg 10 years old - Cannot do without a bottle and is definitley the most replaced bottle on the gantry...Favourite by default I think.

Bushmills 10 years old Single Malt - Nice! I'm enjoying Irish blends at the moment too - Am currently trying to find a good excuse for finishing a bottle of Midleton which is too damned expensive to replace.

Te Bheag - That Ian Noble blended stuff that I like but you never see in the shops.

Ledaig - Love it when I run out of Ardbeg especially

The Glenlivet - Regained a taste for it after dismissing it as boring in my youth. Rediscovered!

Auchentoshan - Because I'm a Glasgow boy.

Hi all im new on here as well, Just thought id join in this greeting session.

im 21 from Scotland and have worked with whisky (sales really) for 3 years now and the enthusiasm is growing still.

If ure looking for Te bag whisky i know just the shops in central scotland if ure interested ;)

34 malts is very impressive - im jealous struggling with only 5 malts, and 5 bourbons as im very ''open-minded'' with the stuff
