In all my years of growing up around, working on, and partaking of whisky, I can honestly say that I have never tasted a single drop of any expression of Johnny Walker.

What would be the definitive JW blend that I should spend my hard earned cash on?

I like the black and the green, the blue is nice but overrated if you ask me.I had a sample of the Millenium but if you don`t mind i stick with the green.

Nose; flowery and malty with earthy tones, hints of smoke and peat.
Taste;a bit spicey, cocoa, tobacco(like in Samson or Duma),smoke and peat present as is the maltiness,a bit oily, not unpleasant.
Finish;spices and sweet tones last.Thumbs%20Up.
This a blended malt at least 15yo, it`s a nice whisky ,good craftmanship.

There are 3 others I didn't see listed, so I listed them below. However I have never tried them.

Excelsior
Deco
Old Harmony

If anyone has the more rare ones for sale I may be interested (all but the color ones - Red, Black, Green, Gold, Blue)

On some sites and forums there is a rumor about a Johnny Walker GREY label, does anybody knows this or seen it somewhere?I just hold it for a mistranslation, perhaps gold label or a very old fashioned white label from decades ago(30`s/40`s?).Or is it possible that it was brought out especially for the Asian market or for a F1-racingequipe?If someone has any information please share it.

Thats alot of versions. Its all part of marketing.

I don't bother with the red. The black is my favorite and my you cannot go wrong with tis drink.
I bought the green afew years ago and because it was a single malt I was very excitied to try it. When I did I was a bit disappointed. The scotch was good but it didn't meet my high expectations.
I'll stick to Black and save a few bucks. I'm not interested in the swing. And some day when I'm more experienced or find a generous friend I'll sample the Blue.

If you are curious for the blue why not get yourself a miniature?Saves a lot of cash and the dissapointment of having to buy a big bottle and dislike the stuff.
