I have recently acquired -- in San Francisco, CA -- a bottle of rye whiskey of some considerable age. It is labeled, in black-only ink: "Double Bouquet Rye Whiskey." The cork was seriously deteriorated, but still functional. I opened the bottle and have sampled the contents. It is absolutely delicious: smooth, fragrant, probably the best old whiskey I have ever enjoyed. Does anyone know anything about this product? The bottle appears to me to be from the 1920s or before, but I cannot be sure. I would sure like to know something about this whiskey so that I can explain its origins to those with whom I share it.
