Fundada 1798 por Magnus Eunson
La destilería tiene 2 pares de alambiques, y el agua proviene del manantial Cattie Maggie's Spring. Estuvo inactiva entre 1918 y 1937.
Tiene el honor de ser la destilería escocesa situada más al norte.
La destilería tiene la que quizá sea la familia más antigua de gatos cazadores de ratones distillery mousers. Hasta hace bien poco, los dos hermanos Malt y Barley eran los últimos de una larga estirpe de gatos cazadores - ¡ la genealogía familiar puede datar incluso del momento de la fundación de la destilería! Con el desafortunado fallecimiento de Malt, ha tomado el relevo Peat.
