Fondée 1798 par Magnus Eunson
La distillerie possède 2 paires d'alambics, et l'eau vient de la source Cattie Maggie's Spring. Elle fut en sommeil de 1918 à 1937.
La distillerie a l'honneur d'être la distillerie la plus septentrionale d'Ecosse.
La distillerie peut se vanter de posséder la plus ancienne dynastie de chats de distillerie. Jusqu'il y a peu les deux frères Malt et Barley étaient les deux derniers représentants de la lignée - il semble que la lignée familiale remonte à la création de la distillerie. Depuis que Malt a rejoint le pays des chasses (de rongeurs) éternelles, sa place a été prise par Peat.
