Haha, I've never considered putting water in whiskey. Hi alicegarden,

For your price range I would definitely get Jack Daniels for the first bottle. Jack has a very "normal whisky" feel to it, and is something you can base others off of. For the second I would get a small bottle of Jameson. It is a lot smoother than JD.

I have max 35$ to buy some whiskey.. could be a small bottle.. doesn't matter.. but I was thinking of getting a small black label jim beam.. and a jack daniels n7 small bottle... or trade one of them with the black label jonnie walker.. I DO WANNA taste the "bourbon" and try to notice the difference between the whiskeys.. I'm a beginner.. I know nothing about whiskey.. just heard some ppl say I should get a JD.. but I just hope you can help me choose better.. n remember I'm gonna get small bottles.. so that I can buy 2 .. help.. and please share you info with me.. it would bee really helpful! And you should know that there aren't many kinds of whiskey in the store near by.. I'm gonna try to take a lot at other places.. But I only found Johnnie Walker.. JD.. Jim Beam.. Dewars.. Teachers.. and stuff like that..

I have got my dad a bottle of Irish Whiskey for a birthday present, I don't drink any alcohol myself so I have no idea what the difference is between Scottish Whisky and Irish Whiskey is? Is there a taste difference? Why does one spell it with an "e" and one without? Who made it first? Who makes the best one? What does it mean about the distilling process? How do you know which is a good one? Why is there a £10 difference between two bottles of Whiskey? Are the most expensive ones better or not?
