Jack Beam was the son of Guy Beam, who was the son of Minor Case Beam, who was the son of Joseph M. Beam, uncle of James B. "Jim" Beam.
Jack was the distiller at Barton in Bardstown, KY, where his most prominent bourbon products would have been Very Old Barton, Kentucky Gentleman and Colonel Lee.
Thus, Jack would be Jim Beam's first cousin, twice removed.

Thank you for the information.. Do you have any reference site I could check out?  I was given the glass decanter from my mother - in- law and she said  her grandfather " loved" bourbon.... Just wanting to know where it came from...

Thank you again for your response...

Check out F. Paul Pacult's book about the Beam family, "American Still Life".
