I know this is a long shot but, I'm trying to identify 19th century distillers or brewers of the state of Georgia. My great-great grandfather(a slave) worked in his owner's brewery or distillery until the late 1860's. According to family history, the distillery or brewery was quite a large one. I have no other information but figure that there could only have been a few such industries during this period. Can anyone help me?
